Every student who declares the CS Major is assigned two advisors in MyMadison:

  1. An Academic Advisor: Paige Normand, the Departmental Advisor to all CS students
  2. A Faculty Advisor: a CS professor who is available to answer content-specific questions

You are always welcome to book a meeting with Paige Normand or send her quick questions over email.

To meet with your Faculty Advisor, email them or check their personal site for details about their calendar.

Your Faculty Advisor is a resource for:

  • Discussing future career paths, internships, research
  • Getting advice on which CS electives you should take
  • Reviewing your plan of study for sequencing and workload
  • Helping you understand your strengths and areas to improve
  • ​Identifying other resources on and off campus as needed
